The Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council (MPOCC) would like to congratulate Grand Oils & Fats (Dongguan) Co. Ltd. (GIHDG) as the first facility outside of Malaysia and in the People’s Republic of China to be certified with Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chain Certification Standard (MSPO SCCS) since 21 October 2022.

On 24th April 2022, one container holding 1,318 pieces of Crescent 20L Pure Vegetable Oil Jerry Can had been exported to Cebu, Philippines. While sales from Malaysia to the Philippines may seem rather routine and unexciting, this shipment actually represents a very significant milestone for MPOCC.

In Malaysia, forced labour allegations are generally linked to the recruitment and employment of migrant workers or workers from rural areas.

As of April 2020, 337,000 migrant workers are from the oil palm industry and most of them are from Indonesia, where 80% of the workforce returned to their hometowns.
