MSPO welcomes feedback from industry, auditors, civil society, and other stakeholders on the draft Guidance for Oleochemicals and its Derivatives under MSPO Part 4-2. The public consultation is open from 9 to 23 September 2025.
This draft guidance is designed to make traceability and mass balance calculations clearer and more consistent. In particular, it:
- Sets out transparent conversion factors for palm and palm kernel based inputs and outputs.
- Explains how Certification Bodies and auditors should calculate and verify the palm based proportion of oleochemicals and their derivatives.
- Standardises practice when palm and non-palm inputs are mixed, so outputs align with inputs.
- Strengthens delivery of Clause 5 (Traceability) with methods that are practical and auditable.
What has changed since the 2018 edition
- Clearer terminology for SCCS.
- Additional conversion ratios added (Table 1, items 45 to 47).
- Removal of MPOCC and MSPO logos.
