The MS 2530:2022 standard series and the MS2751:2022 contain requirements for all certified entities to be aware of and/or conduct greenhouse gas (GHG) assessments. This is in line with contributing to the national commitment to climate change, where all actors along the value chain shall identify the sources of GHG emissions, monitor, and plan for reductions, whenever applicable.

The intent of the criterion on GHG is for the organisation to monitor and create awareness of energy usage including renewable energy and GHG as well as to support national commitments by using the stepwise approach listed in the standard. For this purpose, MPOCC has developed a GHG calculator specifically for MSPO-certified entities.

1. MSPO GHG Calculator Public Comment

A Public Comment on the MSPO GHG Calculator Draft Version 2 will commence from 21 November 2022 to 20 December 2022 (30 days). During this period, we welcome all parties to share your views and expertise on the MSPO GHG Calculator, which is available for download.

Please provide your valuable inputs and expertise by using the respective public comment form and send it via email to standards_review@mpocc.org.my with the title “Public Comment on the MSPO GHG Calculator”.

In the addition to the public comment, MPOCC also would like to welcome interested organisations which are MSPO Certified to test the GHG calculator and share the results with MPOCC. We will provide feedback on the correct usage of the GHG calculator for the 50 earliest organisations. Interested participants may submit their results (excel format) to standards_review@mpocc.org.my with the title “GHG Calculator Results_Company Name”.

Submission to MPOCC on this matter will be treated as private and confidential and details will not be shared with other parties.
